Acer Predator Orion X Prebuilt Review (13900KS + 4080)

Moving onto CPU thermals, the i9-13900KS actually ends up running very cool by its standards, all down to the 150W PL1. In Cinebench for instance, it ran at just 62C, while it hit 78C in Cyberpunk 2077. For me, there is definitely a lot more thermal headroom to push the power draw, and thus clock speeds, of this CPU, but we suspect the basic motherboard VRMs are the reason behind the 150W PL1, rather than raw CPU thermals.

GPU thermals are also nothing to worry about, the triple-fan unit delivers solid results with the hotspot hitting 83C and the memory at 80C.

The Orion X isn't a particularly loud system, either. It is audible under load, hitting 41dBa when gaming, but that would be easily drowned out by a headset or even quiet speakers.

Lastly, total system power is nothing to worry about either. When gaming we saw over 520W in Cyberpunk, but that's well below the 850W capacity of the power supply. You'd even be able to stick a 4090 in without any issues, so there is scope to swap out the GPU down the line if you purchase the Orion X.
