With the PC Specialist Enigma R1 it's obvious there have been a few compromises made to get the PC as cheap as it is. The power supply could be more efficient, the case is pretty basic and RGB lovers might be disappointed by the static RED lighting.
Looking into the acrylic window also isn't too appealing thanks to the amount of empty space around the Micro ATX motherboard. There's only a single stick of RAM, too, so we do miss out on dual-channel memory – even if that doesn't make much difference in the real world.
That being said, this PC has an excellent price to performance ratio so it can definitely get away with a few minor issues. PC Specialist has done a decent job with the cable management and you do get plenty of storage on the 2TB HDD and a fast OS drive in the form of the M.2 SSD.
The main focus of this PC is that, even though there have been a few sacrifices made, you get an i5 8400 and GTX 1060 which provide great gaming performance for only £799. This means that you will have a PC that can play pretty much whatever you throw at it for a reasonable price.
Overall the pricing is very competitive and after playing around with components on PC PartPicker we think you would really struggle to build the same PC for less, not taking into account the time needed for assembly. The Enigma R1 also comes with a 3 Year Standard Warranty (1 Month Collect & Return, 1 Year Parts, 3 Year Labour) from PC Specialist which means that you will have peace of mind for years to come.
