MSI GT75 TITAN 8RG-201 Gaming Laptop: Core i9/GTX 1080 BEAST!

On the whole, we think the MSI GT75 Titan 8RG is definitely more suited to people that are after a more ‘permanent' desktop replacement. The performance packed into this laptop is crazy but it does come at a cost – namely, it's rather large and the short battery life means it won't last long unplugged.

The overall design of this laptop is pretty standard. With it's black and red colour scheme and RGB keyboard you can certainly tell this is a gaming laptop. The body is constructed using plastic but the overall build quality still feels solid.

Using the laptop day-to-day is quite pleasant thanks to the mechanical keyboard and responsive touch pad. The screen is also great for gaming with a fast response time, high refresh-rate and G-Sync support. It's just a big shame that the fans are on the noisy side and the charger configuration is far from ideal.

All-in-all, The GT75 Titan 8RG is only going to appeal to a small niche. If you're willing to sacrifice noise levels, battery life and portability you can get a laptop with extremely impressive performance.

The MSI GT75 Titan 8RG we reviewed with the i9-8950HK & GTX 1080 can be found HERE for £3499.99.

Pros:

  • Very good performance.
  • Super Raid 4 SSDs are very fast.
  • 3ms, 120Hz, 94% NTSC screen.
  • SteelSeries RGB Mechanical keyboard.
  • Responsive touch pad with dedicated buttons.

Cons:

  • High fan noise and temperatures.
  • Bulky design.
  • Short battery life.
  • Dual charger configuration.

KitGuru says:  Overall the MSI GT75 Titan 8RG offers excellent performance but it comes at a cost.
