Here’s what PVP light-sabre duels look like in VR

There's going to be a lot of “OMG you can do X in VR” posts over the next few weeks – just bear with us, it's an exciting time. But one that we simply have to share is the guys at Node having a play with virtual light sabre duels in Raw Data, a game that has 100 per cent, not-IP infringing glowing katanas, that you can cut robots up with, as well as each other.

Although Raw Data is a game that is all about defending your small section of floor space from incoming robotic death, the staging area before each game leaves you and your cooperative partner to test out your weapon wielding skills – even against one another.

So that's what the guys at Node did, and it's everything you've ever imagined. [yframe url='http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vo8zMLtbYps']

Thrusts, slashes, hacks and stabs are all viable attack methods – as is poking your opponent in the eyes and junk apparently. But such is Raw Data and such is VR light sabre battles, which look about as much fun as the main Raw Data game – suggesting that we only have more fun things to come with VR.

KitGuru Says: Can you tell we're excited for our consumer HTC Vive to arrive in a couple of weeks?
