Patriot Wildfire 120GB SSD Review

AS SSD is a great free tool designed just for benching Solid State Drives. It performs an array of sequential read and write tests, as well as random read and write tests with sequential access times over a portion of the drive. AS SSD includes a sub suite of benchmarks with various file pattern algorithms but this is difficult in trying to judge accurate performance figures.

AS SSD uses incompressible data so the sequential speeds are lower than they would be in the real world. The Patriot Wildfire 120GB puts in a good showing however, right up with the leaders in sequential read performance and falling a little behind the larger 240GB drives in the write test, which is to be expected.

  1. Excellent, these drives have been getting rave reviews. Seem slightly overpriced as the review says. perhaps they will drop a little more

  2. £80 extra when compared to the ordinary 2281 powered OCZ drives, is too much to pay. I do agree, if the price hits £200 then its an excellent choice due to ultimate speeds, especially sequentual !

  3. Very nice indded. I need to snag an ssd soon for my laptop

  4. Bit expensive. Our local store has a 120gb vertex 3 for 145 inc

  5. The problem in the toshiba nand, its mega costly

  6. Ocz for me, they update their firmwares all the time, which is very important
