WD Red SN700 1TB NVMe SSD Review

We tested the 4K random write performance of the drive through a range of queue depths. The setup for the tests is listed below.
Transfer Request Size: 4KB, Outstanding I/O: 1-32.

When it comes to our 4K random write tests, the drive peaked at QD4 with a test result of 281,126 IOPS before slowly dropping back as the queue depth deepens to finish the test run at QD32 with a figure of 277, 858 IOPS (1,137.85MB/s) and as with the random read tests, our random write results were some way distant of the official 560,000 IOPS.

4K Random Write v QD Performance compared.

The drive holds its position in our random write results charts at the lower queue depths (1-4) before losing ground on drives around it at QD32 at the end of the test run.
