We tested the Sequential read and write performance of the drive through a range of queue depths. The setup for the tests is listed below.
Transfer Request Size: 128KB, Thread(s): 1, Outstanding I/O: 1-32.
When testing the drive with our own Sequential tests we saw a peak read figure of 3,434.02MB/s with writes at 3,107.07MB/s, both figures confirming the official maximums of 3,430MB/s and 3,000MB/s for reads and writes respectively.
128KB Sequential Read Performance compared.
In relation to the drives around it in our Sequential read results charts the drive performs best at queue depths 2 and 4 before slipping back at QD32.
128KB Sequential Write Performance compared.
At QD1, the 1TB WD Red SN700 is the fastest Gen 3 SSD we've seen to date when it comes to Sequential writes with a test result of 2,258.71MB/s. The performance drops off at QD2 and QD4 a little but by QD32 it's back up to third position in our results chart.
