WD Black P50 Game Drive SSD 1TB Review

In our read throughput test, the WD Black P50 Game Drive peaked at 1,876.83MB/s at the 16MB block mark. Although this figure was shy of the official 2,000MB/s, it does make it the fastest non Thunderbolt drive we have seen to date.

As for write throughput performance, the drive peaked at the 8MB block mark at 1,803.91MB/s, again short of the official maximum but the second fastest non Thunderbolt drive we have seen when it comes to write throughput.

The speed advantage of the USB 3.2 Gen 2 x2 interface can be clearly seen when the drive is connected to the previous incarnation of the USB 3.2 specification.
