IOMeter is another open source synthetic benchmarking tool which is able to simulate the various loads placed on hard drive and solid state drive technology.
We test with both random read and write 4k tests, as shown above. There are many ways to measure the IOPS performance of a Solid State Drive, so our results will sometimes differ from manufacturer’s quoted ratings. We do test all drives in exactly the same way, so the results are directly comparable.
Quoted random read/write performance for the 960GB TR200 is up to 81,000 IOPS for reads and 88,000 IOPS for writes. Under our 4K random test we couldn't get close to the official write figure at 65,054 IOPS but on the flipside of that, the tested read result shot passed the official figure at 100,457 IOPS.
This is a very nice 850 Evo/Pro competitor, but it’ll come down to price and benchmarks.
