Available in three capacities, 250GB, 500GB and 1TB, the Pro Elite is a tiny external SSD drive that uses a USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-C interface. A sleek aluminium design, measuring just 63.5 x 57.2 x10mm and weighing in a just 45g, the drive is small and light enough to be carried around in a jacket pocket all day without noticing it, but because of its small stature, it's more a case of remembering where you put it, rather than noticing it.
The official Sequential performance figures for the 1TB drive are up to 890MB/s for reads and 880MB/s for writes. Using the ATTO benchmark we couldn't reach those maximum figures but the 661MB/s reads and 756MB/s writes we did get, are still very respectable figures from an external drive. The drive did get quite warm when being tested but that's because it was being pushed hard during the benchmarking process.
Real life file transfers saw read performance go over the 450B/s mark on few occasion and even 500GB/s when dealing with the 5GB photo and 60GB ISO image files. Write performance topped the 500GB mark on a couple of occasions, again when dealing with the 5GB image and also when writing the contents of the 12GB Movie folder.

KitGuru says: PNY's Pro Elite is a useful external drive, tiny in stature it may be, but it offers a good combination of capacity and fast performance.
