CrystalDiskMark is a useful benchmark to measure theoretical performance levels of hard drives and SSDs. We are using v6.0. to test NVMe drives.
In the CrystalDiskMark benchmark, Crucial's P1 doesn't perform too well at a deep queue depth of 32 – particularly when it comes to read performance. However, when it comes to operating at a queue depth where a great deal of the everyday workloads occur, namely a QD of 1, it performs very well.
Looking at both benchmark results, it appears that the Silicon Motion controller doesn't have a preference of what type of data it's being asked to work with.
