Corsair MP700 PRO SE 4TB Review

Rating: 9.0.

Corsair's latest SSD is the flagship drive of the PCIe Gen 5 MP700 product line. The MP700 PRO SE uses a combination of a Phison PS5026 controller and 232-layer NAND and is rated as up to 14,000MB/s for reads and 12,000MB/S for writes.

At launch, Corsair's MP700 PRO SE is only available as a 4TB drive and comes without a heatsink. There will be two heatsink versions of the drive both of which include a 2TB model. At launch, there is the Hydro X which comes with a water block, while the versions using an air-cooled heatsink are slated to arrive sometime in June 24.

At the heart of the drive is a Phison PS5026-E26 8-channel controller which looks after Micron 232-Layer B58R TLC NAND, the 4TB drive also has 8GB of cache (the 2TB drive has 4GB). Corsair quotes Sequential performance figures for the PRO SE line-up as up to 14,000MB/s and up to 12.000MB/s for reads and writes respectively. Random performance is listed as up to 1,700,000 IOPS for reads with writes at up to 1,600,000 IOPS.

Corsair gives power consumption figures for the MP700 PRO SE as up to 11.5W for average active reads and writes. Endurance for the drives is quoted as 3,000TBW for the 4TB models and 1,400TBW for the 2TB range. Corsair backs the drive with a 5-year warranty.
