Corsair MP600 Mini 2TB SSD Review

CrystalDiskMark is a useful benchmark to measure the theoretical performance levels of hard drives and SSDs. We are using v8.0.5.

With a read score of 85.08MB/s, the 2TB Corsair MP600 Mini sits on top of the CrystalDiskMark 8 4K T1 QD1 test results chart by quite a clear margin. However, the write performance figure is only the third fastest behind WD's Black SN770M and Corsair's own 1TB MP600 Core Mini.

As you can see from the benchmark results screen we can confirm the official maximum Sequential read/write speeds of 7,000MB/s and 6,200MB/s respectively with a read test result of 7,376MB/s and 6,270MB/s for writes using the default test.  Switching over to using compressible data sees the random 4K QD1 T1 read performance get a very healthy kick up from 85.08MB/s to 252.83MB/s but writes see no improvement.

Those Sequential read/write result figures of 7,376MB/s and 6,270MB/s respectively puts the Corsair MP600 Mini in the top spot on the results chart by some 2,169MB/s from its nearest rival, WD's Black SM770M drive.

Peak Performance Profile

Using the default Peak Performance profile we could confirm the official 4K random read performance figure for the drive of up to 750,000 IOPS with a default test result of 756,351 IOPS. On the other hand, we couldn't get close to the official write maximum of 1,000,000 IOPS, as the best default test result we saw was 619,363 IOPS.

Real World Profile

The Corsair MP600 Mini 2TB doesn't do as well in the default Real World profile test. With a Sequential read result of 4,186MB/s, it sits in second place behind the Black SN770M from WD. However, its write performance of 5,477MB/s is the fastest we've seen to date for this class of SSD. Switching over to using compressible data sees a much-improved read performance through all of the tests.
