Kioxia’s first PCIe 5.0 SSDs offer blazing fast speeds with reduced power consumption

Kioxia is launching a new range of PCIe 5.0 SSDs for gamers and content creators. The new Exceria Plus G4 SSD series will offer blazing fast speeds of up to 10,000MB/s, ensuring quick load times and file transfers.

With up to 2TB capacity, the Exceria Plus G4 SSD offers up to 10,000MB/s sequential read speeds and up to 8,200MB/s sequential write speeds. This level of performance makes these SSDs ideal for both quick load times in games, as well as other intensive tasks like video editing. These speeds are achieved using the latest PCIe 5.0 interface technology and better yet, these speeds don't come at the cost of over-the-top power consumption. Kioxia has prioritised optimised energy consumption with its new BiCS Flash memory, which will also have the knock-on effect of keeping temperatures lower under load.

Speaking about their latest round of SSDs, Kioxia Europe's VP and Chief Marketing Officer, Paul Rowan, said: “We are delighted to introduce our first PCIe 5.0 Consumer SSD, designed to elevate the gaming and content creation experience of our end customers to unprecedented levels. With the latest KIOXIA BiCS FLASH 3D flash memory technology and a controller optimized for the highest energy efficiency, this new SSD enables vast PCIe 5.0 workloads while maintaining power consumption at PCIe 4.0 level.”

The new Kioxia Exceria Plus G4 PCIe 5.0 SSDs will be available in the standard M.2 2280 form factor, with 1TB or 2TB capacity.
