Corsair’s latest PCIe Gen4 M.2 SSD promises ultra-fast speeds for PS5

Last year, Sony officially enabled the secondary M.2 SSD slot on PS5 consoles, opening the doors for console owners to install their own ultra-fast SSD to expand storage. If you're looking for one of the fastest SSDs for the PS5, then Corsair has you covered with its new MP600 PRO LPX, offering up to 4TB of additional storage for the PlayStation 5.

Today, Corsair is launching its latest M.2 SSD aimed at the PS5. The MP600 PRO LPX comes in capacities starting at 500GB and going up to 4TB, so you'll have plenty of options to choose from depending on budget and storage needs. As a PS5 certified SSD, the drive can be installed and used for both last-gen PS4 and backwards compatible titles, as well as brand new PS5 games that utilise the full speed of PCIe 4.0 SSDs.

The MP600 PRO LPX is specifically crafted for optimal performance in PlayStation 5, right out of the box. A specially designed low-profile aluminium heatsink ensures the MP600 PRO LPX remains cool even under in-game load, and fits perfectly inside the console. Installation is simple and the SSD will be recognised by your PS5 as soon as you switch it back on, making set-up painless.

This doubles as one of the fastest PCIe 4.0 SSDs around, taking full advantage of additional bandwidth to deliver 7,100 MB/s sequential read speeds and 6,800 MB/s sequential write speeds.

The Corsair MP600 PRO LPX is available now, starting at £99.99 for the 500GB version. For £159.99, you can get the 1TB version, while 2TB will set you back by £319.99. Finally, the 4TB version costs more than a PS5, coming in at £744.99.
