MSI launches new M480 Pro M.2 SSDs

MSI has recently unveiled its latest flagship PCIe 4.0 SSD, the Spatium M480 Pro. This SSD is constructed with high-density 3D NAND flash, delivering 7400MB/s sequential read and 7000 sequential write speeds.

The Spatium M480 Pro SSDs are available with 1 TB, 2 TB, or 4 TB of storage capacity. With compliance with PCIe Gen 4 and NVMe 1.4 standards, these SSDs offer transfer speeds of up to 7400MB/s sequential read and 7000MB/s sequential write speeds.

The Spatium M480 Pro HS is the pinnacle of the SPATIUM lineup. The bronze-coloured aluminium heatsink with a stacked fin structure efficiently dissipates heat, reducing the SSD temperature by up to 20°C under load, according to MSI. Then, there's the Spatium M480 Pro Play, the series' product aimed at the PlayStation 5 and other devices where a tall SSD heatsink may not fit. Despite being smaller, the dual-finish aluminium heatsink can still efficiently dissipate the heat generated during operation, preventing the drive from throttling. Lastly, the standard M480 Pro ships without a heatsink.

All models support a comprehensive range of data error correction features, including LPDC ECC and E2E Data Protection, and offer a high-rated TBW and a limited 5-year warranty.

MSI also offers an advanced software solution with system status monitoring and data backup, accessible via MSI Center. The user can view comprehensive information regarding the SSD status, including drive health, used capacity, and current operating temperature. Additionally, MSI has partnered with Actiphy to allow users who bought and installed MSI SSDs to create backups using its tool.
