Seasonic Platinum Fanless 520W Power Supply Review

The Seasonic Platinum Fanless 520W arrives in a stylish box with an artistic viewpoint of the supply itself.

The bundle includes a user manual, warning notice (detailing air flow as this is a passive design), mounting screws, a bag of cable ties, modular bag of cables and a case sticker. The power supply itself is wrapped inside a soft felt bag for protection during shipping.

The felt bag opens up and between this is a regional specific power plug. Inside two pouches are the modular cables which are listed above. For a 520W rated unit, there are more than we would have expected. They are all 18 AWG with only the main M/B connector being sleeved, all the rest are flat ribbon style to improve airflow.

  1. that is fantastic. what a design

  2. yeah I agree, they nailed it with that one. only thing is, very few people will spend that money on a 520W unit, even if it is amazing. just the way it is.

  3. Wow that really is spectacular

  4. They make a lot of great power supplies, including a load for other companies! I would rather buy from seasonic directly that one of hteir partners.

  5. I prefer the flat cables to the sleeved ones, they t ake up less space, especially in a mini itx case.

  6. on page 6:
“The large fan maintains good temperatures throughout, rising to a 15c above ambient intake threshold at full load”

    What large fan?

  7. an invisible fan that doesn’t exist? fixed that!
