NZXT C1500 Platinum PSU Review

The NZXT C1500 Platinum is a exceptionally high performance power supply that excelled in our tests today. While not the smallest high power unit we have tested in recent months – that accolade falls to the Enermax Revolution D.F.X. 1650W at only 170mm long – the modest 180mm length does ensure compatibility with many cases on the market today.

Technically this is a very capable unit. Ripple suppression is right at the top of the chain, with the minor rails failing below 10mV at full load. Even the primary +12V rail peaks at only 15mV – some of the best results we have seen this year in any class. Load regulation also proves very solid with the unit falling within 1% deviation.

Build quality from this CWT OEM partnered unit is exceptionally high. The digital platform produces no coil whine, even at full load, and the unit was able to sustain more than 1700 Watts of power for long durations of time without any issues.

When we look at the NZXT C1500 Platinum pricing in the United Kingdom, it is set to go on sale for £299.99 over HERE this week. This pricing is pretty much in line with what we would expect and is slightly less than the PX-1600 Platinum from Seasonic, but considering the quality of this particular unit, it is a solid value for money purchase.

When you factor in the low noises levels, the digital design, quality cabling, 10 year warranty and the use of 105C high quality capacitors from Nippon Chemi Con, this is a unit that we really recommend.
