The Fractal Design Tesla R2 1000W power supply is a nicely finished unit and very resistant to scratching. The Newton R3 had a blue snowflake logo embossed behind the silkscreening of the name, but the Tesla R2 doesn't.
The shot above, shows the company logo cut into the top of the chassis.
The large white fan is hidden behind the metal grill.
One side of the chassis is vented to ensure good airflow under load. There is a power connector and switch close by.
All of the cables are hardwired into this unit, so there are no modular connectors.

The single +12V rail can deliver 80A which is 960W of the total output. Both +3.3V and +5V rails can deliver 20A each.
By comparison the Seasonic Platinum 1000W power supply which we reviewed in May last year can deliver 83A (996W) via the +12V rail.
Hell of a price, must be the cheapest 1000W gold plus ive seen.
2 molex connectors? and non modular? seems they are chasing high wattage rather than getting the rest of the design right for the high end audience.
Looks like a well built unit, I like fractal, always build their stuff well.
id buy this in a heartbeat, but its nonmodular, my last non modular power supply was a nightmare to work with, especially in my current case as its crap for hiding cables.
Not bad, but ill go for 850W modular design for same price.
