Cooler Master X Silent Edge Platinum 1100W Review

The Cooler Master box is quite dramatic – and very understated – just the way we like it! The 80 Plus Platinum logo takes pride of place bottom right. There's no Cybenetic certification logo on the box, which is a surprise to me.

The rear of the box is very sparse on information – usually we see fan curves and some key selling points – but really nothing of any note here at all.

The box is separated into two sections inside. One half is home to the cabling and accessories and the other has the power supply safely sandwiched between foam panels on all sides.

Cooler Master supply some literature on the product, as well as a thank you card which feels like a nice touch to me. The modular cables come supplied in a bag, alongside some cable ties and mounting screws.

I mention sometimes that companies do not offer much protection when shipping power supplies, but it is good to see Cooler Master has covered this unit with a layer of foam.

The cables are high quality and individually sleeved. The main ATX cable is 650mm long and the EPS cables are the same length.  The older style PCIe cables are 550mm long. I was a little surprised Cooler Master had not spaced out the Molex cables at 150mm between connectors instead of 120mm. I can't see this being a huge issue for a lot of people, but just thought it was worth mentioning.

None of the cables have capacitors on them.
