Be Quiet! Pure Power L8 630W Power Supply Review

The Power supply is attractive, finished in a nice black paint. It is certainly one of the nicer looking designs in this price range. It measures 280 x 105 x 230 mm (LxWxD).

The fan certainly grabs attention, thanks to the gold/orange accenting underneath the grill section. Be Quiet! have ensured that their logo is displayed proudly on the fan itself. The orange trim is not just an appearance oriented inclusion as it is elastic, to reduce vibrations.

We love the ‘be quiet!' logo on the side of the chassis. It is subtle but under certain light it can be clearly seen, as shown above.

The rear of the power supply is vented to aid airflow. There is a power button and cable connector set to the side of the chassis.

Only the essential power cables are hardwired – the 20+4 ATX cable and the 4+4 EPS. The other cables are clearly labeled and even colour coded for ease of installation.

  1. They look very sporty, nice idea about the elastic, never seen any other maker doing that before?

  2. They make great products, fantastic to see them being reviewed here. I bought one last year (not this review product obviously), and its been running like a treat, inaudible.

It looks like they have further improved their fans. might contemplate an upgrade soon and sell my own on ebay

  3. So many power supplies to choice from, but I think people are finally paying more attention to what they should or should not buy. and doing research before buying a non name brand in a store. I upgraded recently to a corsair unit and its a little louder than I thought actually. I should have researched better myself.

  4. Good german quality make. good review.

  5. Never heard of them, checked out their website, I see they do a lot of othter things too, like enermax. how do they compare against enermax?

  6. WEird, I always thought they worked with FSP as an exclusive partner.

  7. Its good, but the latest designs with the ‘fan not spinning’ up to xxx output are actually better for media centers. Corsair and PCPOWER cooling make a few, which were reviewed here months ago.
