Asus Rampage III Extreme Motherboard review

H.264 Video Transcoding – Multi Threaded

X.264 is a free library which is used for encoding H.264 and MPEG-4 AVC video streams. Encoding and transcoding really is one of the most intensive tests for a processor. We are encoding a 1080p trailer around 350meg in size to Matroska 264 with AC3 and 5.1 surround.

Using the free Handbrake application we run through the process and record the average frames per second rate – this clearly shows not only the performance of the processors with the Asus motherboard but the benefits you can gain in this industry by moving to the 980X processor.
