AMD B450 motherboards revealed by aftermarket vendors

When the new Ryzen chips launched a couple of months ago, they brought with them the X470 chipset. This chipset is aimed at the enthusiast, leaving budget builders out in the cold. That has all changed now though, as the B450 chipset is finally launching and aftermarket partners are starting to reveal their line-ups of new motherboards.

ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI and ASRock all have new B450 motherboards on the way for Ryzen 2nd Gen. This chipset has fewer PCIe lanes and USB 3.1 ports compared to X470, it also sacrifices support for SLI. However, they are also much cheaper than many X470 motherboards, so the trade-off will be worth it for many budget-oriented system builders. You can see a few of the options from each vendor in the gallery below:

ASUS is bringing the ROG Strix, TUF and Prime series of motherboards to B450, including Micro-ATX and Mini-ITX versions. ASRock on its end is bringing the FATAL1TY and Pro motherboard ranges. Gigabyte has B450 versions of its AORUS and Ultra Durable motherboards.

MSI appears to have the most comprehensive line-up of B450 motherboards so far, with 11 different offerings coming to market. This includes options across the spectrum, hitting ATX, Micro ATX and Mini ITX formfactors.

KitGuru Says: When AM4 first released, it took months before we saw our first Mini ITX board, it’s great to see vendors pushing them out early this time. Are you in the market for a B450 board?
