NZXT launches its first AMD motherboard – the N7 B550

It has been a couple of years since NZXT first began shipping motherboards, starting with the N7 Z370 in 2018. Since then, NZXT has continued to release Intel-based motherboards, leaving the AMD market untouched. That changes today, with NZXT announcing the new N7 B550, built for AMD Ryzen processors.

Due to high demand from the PC gaming community, NZXT is launching its first AMD-based motherboard. The N7 B550 comes with the same sleek and seamless design as other N7 models, but includes support for the latest technologies, including PCIe Gen 4.0 and Wi-Fi 6.

The core features for the NZXT N7 B550 include:

  • Designed with AMD’s B550 Chipset
  • Compatible with AMD Ryzen 5000, 4000, and 3000 series CPUs.
  • PCIe 4.0 support
  • 12+2 DrMOS Power Phase Design and 6 layer PCB
  • Intel Wi-Fi 6E wireless connectivity and Bluetooth V5.2
  • Two M.2 connectors for storage devices
  • Supports memory overclocking speeds of up to 4733 MHz and XMP
  • 8-channel high-definition audio
  • Metal cover made to match NZXT H Series cases

NZXT's motherboard stands out from the competition aesthetically, in large part thanks to the metal cover, which is available in either black or white, creating a seamless look that blends into the background of the case. Users are able to control various features like RGB lighting and fan control through NZXT CAM software, which includes seven fan channels and four RGB lighting channels, with each individual channel being customisable to your preferred settings.

As with other NZXT motherboards though, this one is expensive. The N7 B550 will set you back £209.99 here in the UK, or $229.99 over in the US. Currently, the N7 B550 is exclusively available at Scan in the UK – you can find the white model HERE and the black model HERE.

KitGuru Says: I've always liked the look of NZXT's N7 motherboards personally. Are any of you planning to build a new AMD-based rig? Will you be considering the N7 B550 for it?
