Asus reveals X99 range of motherboards

There has been an absolute flood of X99 news to announce today. Now we have our first look at the Asus range of motherboards, the X99-Deluxe, X99-Pro and X99-A with a new OC socket alongside exclusive five way optimisation technology.

The X99-Deluxe is the flagship model, it comes with a bundled ASUS Hyper M.2 x4 expansion card for ultra-fast 32Gbit/s transfer speeds; onboard 3×3 (3T3R) 802.11ac for ultra-fast Wi-Fi speeds of up to 1,300Mbit/s; and an ASUS Fan Extension Card for flexible additional cooling.

All X99 motherboards will feature Crystal Sound 2, which Asus claims will deliver flawless audio. Additionally, these boards will come equipped with Turbo LAN technology and Asus's UEFI Bios, offering intuitive setup and control.

In common with the other X99-series motherboards, X99-Deluxe supports the ASUS ThunderboltEX II expansion card. This gives users the freedom to add Thunderbolt 2 connectivity to X99-Deluxe at any time for bi-directional transfer speeds up to 20Gbit/s, which is four times faster than USB 3.0

Pricing and availability information will be made available soon.
