Asus Rampage IV Black Edition (X79) Motherboard Review

The ATTO Disk Benchmark performance measurement tool is compatible with Microsoft Windows. Measure your storage systems performance with various transfer sizes and test lengths for reads and writes. Several options are available to customize your performance measurement including queue depth, overlapped I/O and even a comparison mode with the option to run continuously.

Use ATTO Disk Benchmark to test any manufacturers RAID controllers, storage controllers, host adapters, hard drives and SSD drives and notice that ATTO products will consistently provide the highest level of performance to your storage.

Our testing uses a Kingston HyperX 3K SSD.

Neither SATA 6Gb/s port fed by the X79 chipset is likely to hamper the performance of a modern SSD.

The quartet of ports provided by a pair of ASMedia's ASM1061 chipsets are limited to transfer speeds of less than 400MB/s. These ports are better suited for low-priority devices or if the pair of X79-fed SATA 6Gb/s lanes are being utilised.
