MSI MAG B760M Mortar Max motherboards to support BCLK overclocking

Intel B760 motherboards are set to launch in 2023, providing more affordable options for those looking to make the jump to 13th Gen Core processors. Leaks this week have revealed MSI's B760 motherboard lineup, and it looks like a couple of these models will support BCLK overclocking, allowing users to squeeze some extra performance out of non-K processors. 

Twitter leaker, chi11eddog, has shared new images of what appears to be MSI's MAG B760M Mortar Max WiFi motherboard. According to the post, this board will feature Renesas RC26008 clock generators, allowing you to overclock locked Intel processors.

Using this motherboard, the leaker claims to have achieved a 5GHz overclock on the Intel Core i5-12400. Although this is a 12th Gen Core processor, 13th Gen Core non-K CPUs should yield similar or even better results.

B760-based motherboards should be announced during CES 2023, following on from Intel's own keynote, so expect more news next week.

KitGuru says: Built-in clock generators in B-series motherboards aren't new. However, they're usually only present in expensive models. If leaked pricing is correct, the B760M Max Mortar WiFi boards will cost $219 (DDR4) and $229 (DDR5), making them both a compelling solution for those that want to try overclocking an Intel Core non-K CPU.
