Asus starts issuing BIOS updates to introduce 24/48GB DDR5 memory support to X670/B650 motherboards

AMD 600-series motherboards are now starting to get support for 24/48GB DDR5 memory sticks. Asus, in particular, has already released the Beta BIOS introducing the feature, expanding your options for memory when upgrading to the latest generation. 

The Beta BIOS for Asus motherboards was shared on the ROG forums (via HXL) by Shamino, an in-house overclocker at Asus. Based on the list posted by the overclocker, eight AMD motherboards now support 24/48GB DDR5 memory as long as they use the beta BIOS update.

Of the nine motherboards, seven are X670E: ROG Strix X670E-E Gaming WIFI, ROG Strix X670E-F Gaming WIFI, ROG Strix X670E-A Gaming WIFI, ROG Crosshair X670E Hero, ROG Crosshair X670E Hero Gene, ROG Crosshair X670E Extreme, and ProArt X670E Creator WIFI. Moreover, there's the ProArt B650 Creator.

The AMD 600-series motherboards officially support up to 128GB of DDR5 memory. However, using the beta firmware, non-binary memory sticks will be compatible with these boards, allowing them to pack up to 192GB when mounting four 48GB DDR5 memory sticks. Still, this is just a beta update. If you don't have non-binary memory sticks, you can skip this one.
