Asus P8Z77-V LX Motherboard Review

The packaging that Asus has used for the P8Z77-V LX fits in with their generic motherboard art style.  It consists of a relatively slimline motherboard box with an attractive black livery.  The top of the box features a series of badges which illustrate various features of the motherboard within.

Turning the box over reveals a detailed breakdown of the key features of the motherboard alongside a comprehensive list of features and specifications. There is also a diagram which is used to help illustrate the key features.  The box is quite substantial and should provide a high level of protection for the motherboard.

The slim profile of the box is an indicator of the size of the included bundle.  Inside the box, the only items included are a user manual, two SATA cables and an I/O shield.  Our sample was missing the software CD but Asus assure us that one will be included with retail versions.

At this price point, the limited bundle is forgivable as it helps to keep costs down.

  1. that gigabyte board is hard to beat on price. they can’t be making more than £10 from each sale.

  2. Great looking board for the price, but I still cant believe the gigabyte price point.

  3. Not bad, but id like two 16x slots for futureproofing.

  4. I have bought two of these boards this week, as part of bundles from my local component shop in Coventry, and I have to say they are very solid. yeah I get what your saying about the lack of 2 x 16 Crossfire, but as I will never use it, the board is solid. Currently running mine with a 3570k and an NH-D14 at 4.5Ghz. Easy to set up as long as the 1st thing you do is update the Bios.
