It looks like it won't be long now before consumers can get their hands on B3 stepping Sandy Bridge boards with the Cougar Point fixes in place.
More than 30 Sandy Bridge boards are listed in Europe with the new B3 stepping but none of them can as yet be bought. Many people in the industry have confirmed that stock right now is very limited and they won't be available in number for at least another month. This isn't stopping many stores selling the older boards and we have seen products from Asus, MSI and Gigabyte still listed.
If you want to be sure what you are getting is the new fixed revision, they be sure to look out for ‘Rev.3' or ‘B3' in the title. We received some emails this morning from companies such as MSI, who are highlighting that their P67A-GD80 (B3) mainboard is due for release with a 12 Power Phase DrMOS and 3 PCI-E 2.0 x 16 for ‘ultimate performance'.
KitGuru says: When this will be available to buy en masse, along with any other B3 stepping Sandy Bridge product is still pretty much guesswork. Hopefully we will see stock in the coming weeks.
