You might not have heard of ‘Exceleram' however we are sure over coming months that they will be featured more in the press and on review sites. They are a German based start up company who will be focusing on memory.
They are almost ready to start shipping products to retailers and the first range will be called the Red Culvert and the Blue Culvert. Named after the colourful, original heatspreader design.
The Blue Culvert series is a mainstream product aimed at delivering the highest levels of value for money. The DDR3 modules run at either 1,333mhz or 1,600mhz in packs of 4GB or 6GB for dual and triple motherboards. The 1,333mhz memory operates at 1.5V and is rated at 7-7-7-21 and the faster 1,600mhz products are 1.65v at 7-8-7-24 latencies.
The Red Culvert are performance oriented modules with 1,600mhz modules operating at 6-8-7-24 and 6-9-8-24 latencies.
KitGuru says: We wish them success, this is a tough sector to get a foothold in.
Terrible naming conventions for the native english speaking audience. makes no sense.
Lets hope pricing is sane. Good looking Modules (The black PCB And heatspreader anyway) timings could be improved but depending on their price exceptions can be made. When do we see a KitGuru Review? 😉
@Tech Head
Why? It looks like a culvert.
