Intel Core Ultra 200 desktop series rumoured to support up to DDR5-10000 CUDIMM memory

The CUDIMMs (Clocked Unbuffered Dual Inline Memory Modules) have started to catch the attention of many users. By integrating a clock driver directly onto the module, signal integrity, stability, and reliability at higher speeds are improved, allowing for the development of faster memory modules than standard UDIMMs.

While the JEDEC standard specifies a default speed of 6400 MT/s for CUDIMM, it's worth noting that all announced kits at launch had minimum speeds of 9200 MT/s, with some even surpassing 9600 MT/s. Looking ahead, several manufacturers have teased future kits with speeds reaching up to 10,000 MT/s.

MebiuW (via Wccftech) stated that Intel's Arrow Lake-S platform would support this type of memory at least up to DDR5-10000 and showed a screenshot of it running DDR5-9600 memory using Gear 2.

Interestingly, recent news releases showcasing CUDIMM memory have featured screenshots from the Arrow Lake-S platform, but none have explicitly referenced the CPU. This move suggests that memory companies are taking the lead in unveiling this new technology before Intel officially debuts its new platform. The new RAM is set to hit the market in the fourth quarter, aligning with the launch of LGA-1851-based motherboards. However, as of now, it's still uncertain if the Ryzen 9000 series and the 800-series motherboards will support CUDIMM or not.
