Computex 2024: MSI’s next-gen Claw, X870 motherboards, new monitors & more

MSI has so much at Computex this year that we're covering them in two parts. Here, we go over new graphics cards, monitors, motherboards and even the next-generation MSI Claw.

The MSI Claw 8 AI+ Gaming Handheld is the very first handheld device to be powered by an Intel Core Ultra ‘Lunar Lake' processor. These chips are launching later in the year, with a new-gen Xe 2 iGPU. Given the amount of extra performance MSI has managed to get out of the Meteor Lake processor inside of the original Claw, we can expect a nice performance bump from this new version when it eventually lands.

On the graphics front, MSI has won a Best Choice award at Computex this year for its new Suprim Fuzion RTX 4090, which uses an enclosed liquid cooling system. A hybrid AIO + Air cooled MSI RTX 4080 Super Suprim Fuzion is also on the way.

MSI has been doing excellent work in the monitor market, having already launched its excellent 32-inch QD-OLED display earlier this year. MSI is continuing with its new PRO MP 120Hz monitors, designed to appeal to a wider market looking for a good display for entertainment and gaming. The Pro MP252 E2 and Pro MP271A E2 each have a 120Hz refresh rate, 1ms MPRT, ultra-slim bezels and a flat stand that is in keeping with the monitor's minimalistic aesthetic.

MSI has a new generation of AMD X870 motherboards on the way for the new Ryzen 9000 processors. The new boards have redesigned PCIe slots, reinforced for today's larger, heavier graphics cards. They also feature better WiFi, support for faster memory speeds and more.

MSI also has its new MEG Ai1600T PCIe 5 power supply here, offering plenty of power for multi-GPU systems. New MEG PC cases are also on the way, like the Maestro 700L PZ, which features wrap-around tempered glass, a growing trend in the PC case market at the moment.

New CoreLiquid P series coolers are launching later this year with a large 4.3″ IPS panel on the CPU block. We also see new MPG Airflow-focused cases, the latest Z790 Project Zero Plus CAMM2 motherboard, featuring Back Connect connectors so you can keep cables out of sight for a clean PC build.
