Testing and Performance – CPU
Cinebench R23 Multi Core
In Cinebench R23 Multicore we see Luke's original Ryzen 9 7950X topping the chart. Both versions of the CPU tested for this review follow behind with the 3D version running slightly slower.
CPU Power Consumption
It is truly remarkable to see how little power the 7950X3D uses under load, requiring a full 50W less than the regular 7950X. By contrast the Core i9-13900K is a power-hungry monster.
CPU Temperature
We are using an impressive cooler in the shape of a Corsair H150i Elite LCD but even so it is startling to see the 7950X3D running a full 20 degrees C cooler than the 7950X. Saving power shaves the edge off raw performance but the benefits in power, heat and noise are simply amazing.
