For our overclocking tests today we used the latest version of MSI Afterburner, which is based around Rivatuner.
Both of our review samples have plenty of overclocking potential, hitting between 10-15 percent on the core.
The overclocks on both cards translate into tangible real world gains. The VChamp HD7790 when overclocked to 1,200mhz core actually outperforms the reference clocked HD7850. The VChamp HD7850 when overclocked to 1,150mhz is at the same performance level as the HD7870 Tahiti LE.

My mate bought a HD7990 VTX3D Card and its been great, good company by the looks of it. Their pricing normally seems great, but its way out on that HD7850, I see some HD7870’s for less than £150!
I like that HD7850, but its too much cash, they should be £130 now.
