Palit GTX760, GTX770 and GTX780 Super JetStream Review

Splinter Cell Blacklist is the sixth installment in the series.

The game begins with Sam Fisher and his old friend Victor Coste who are about to depart from Andersen AFB in Guam when an unknown enemy force destroys the entire base. Assisted by hacker specialist Charlie Cole, Sam and Vic manage to escape, although Vic is injured after protecting Sam from a grenade. Soon after, a terrorist group calling itself “The Engineers” assumes responsibility for the attack and announce that it was the first of a deadly countdown of escalating attacks (called “The Blacklist”) on United States assets, declaring that they will halt the attacks only after the U.S. government accomplish the demand of calling back all American troops deployed abroad.

Blacklist had some performance issues until Nvidia released the 326.80 beta driver, which we are using today.

We used the Direct X 11 image quality settings highlighted above and tested at 2560×1600.

All of the cards maintain smooth frames at 2560×1600. The GTX780 is way out in front thanks to the powerful architecture.

  1. that 780 looks like gigabyte windforce card you reviewed last week? – looks good mind you. but a rip off?

  2. I have a Palit GTX650Ti, I personally would go with them again.

  3. Great review. And finally, a review that actually turns TressFX on even when using Nvidia GPUs. I wish all reviews did this. Good job Kitguru.

I’ve noticed the 4GB variant of the Palit GTX 770 Jetstream performs worse compared to their GTX 780 and GTX 760 in terms of cooling. I think it’s mainly because of the fins, they’re running the length of the card while using 3 fans. There’s probably some turbulence going on there which lessens the effectiveness of the cooler to expel heat. However, their 2GB GTX 770 Jetstream has the same cooler design of this GTX 780 right here so it’s gonna perform marginally better.
