Palit GTX760, GTX770 and GTX780 Super JetStream Review

MetroLast Light takes place one year after the events of Metro 2033, proceeding from the ending where Artyom chose to call down the missile strike on the Dark Ones. The Rangers have since occupied the D6 military facility, with Artyom having become an official member of the group. Khan, the nomad mystic, arrives at D6 to inform Artyom and the Rangers that a single Dark One survived the missile strike.

4A Games’ proprietary 4A Engine is capable of rendering breathtaking vistas, such as those showing the ruined remnants of Moscow, as well as immersive indoor areas that play with light and shadow, creating hauntingly beautiful scenes akin to those from modern-day photos of Pripyat’s abandoned factories and schools.
metro setts
We normally test this game under real world conditions, but decided today to try the built in benchmark, with the settings above at both 1920×1080 and 2560×1600.
metro 1920
An incredibly demanding engine at these very high image quality settings. Both GTX770 and GTX780 hold the frame rate above 25 however the GTX760 struggles.
metro 2560
At 2560×1600 with the ultra high image quality settings, the GTX780 is the only card able to maintain smooth frame rates throughout. Both GTX760 and GTX770 would need the image quality settings reduced to smooth out the frame rate.

  1. that 780 looks like gigabyte windforce card you reviewed last week? – looks good mind you. but a rip off?

  2. I have a Palit GTX650Ti, I personally would go with them again.

  3. Great review. And finally, a review that actually turns TressFX on even when using Nvidia GPUs. I wish all reviews did this. Good job Kitguru.

I’ve noticed the 4GB variant of the Palit GTX 770 Jetstream performs worse compared to their GTX 780 and GTX 760 in terms of cooling. I think it’s mainly because of the fins, they’re running the length of the card while using 3 fans. There’s probably some turbulence going on there which lessens the effectiveness of the cooler to expel heat. However, their 2GB GTX 770 Jetstream has the same cooler design of this GTX 780 right here so it’s gonna perform marginally better.
