MSI N560GTX Ti Twin Frozr II Review – the ultimate 560 ?

The MSI N560GTX T1 Twin Frozr II arrives in a stylish, gatefold style box which places emphasis on the metal cooler.

The bundle contains literature on the product, various video converters (HDMI and VGA) and several power cables.

The MSI card is a complete overhaul on the reference design, featuring an aluminum heatpipe cooler with twin fan configuration. We have had very positive experiences with this cooler in the past. The card is a dual slot design, like the reference design.

It is possible to combine two of these cards in SLI, for enhanced performance and to improve  image quality settings.

It requires two 6 pin PCI connectors to operate properly.

The card is supplied with two DVI ports and a single mini HDMI port. This is a rather limited output logic design when compared directly against AMD cards as they can combine six TDMS links into any output configuration they desire. If you want to power three monitors, you need two of these cards in a system.

The Twin Frozr II cooler is a fantastic design, formed around two banks of aluminum fins and a dual fan configuration. There are four thick heatpipes, which ensure that heat is dispersed between left and right banks.

MSi use Ni-C Cap with Tantalum Core, which is an extremely stable metal offering high conductivity and 15 times less leakage when compared to standard capacitors. MSI claim similar technology is used on space shuttles and satellites. These are part of the ‘Military Class II Components' ethic that MSI include with these high end products.

They also use Super Ferrite Core with 30% higher current capability and to offer an improved overclocking experience. We will check later how far the card can be pushed with voltage increases.

  1. damn, thats a nice card. MSI certainly have created one of the nicest looking cards !

  2. Thats what im talking about. under £200 too ! wow, was expecting it to be 230. best buy right now? must be up there with the best.

  3. Have to hand it to MSI, they know their card designs. I dont buy into that ‘military grade’ stuff myself, but the cards get plenty of attention to detail and thats worth a lot of credit when some other manufacturers can be very lazy.

  4. Excellent, glad to see a good 560 here, even among the 40,000 AMd reviews 😉

  5. I have the 460 GTX from MSI, which I read here and on bitech last year, its been the best video card ive owned. I dont really need this card, but the next generation 660 ? ill be getting that from MSI. awesome boards.

  6. 560 is an awesome card, thanks for the review Z, awesome as always.

  7. Wish they would do a 2GB version. lets also hope the new generation will support 3 screens without needing two.

  8. Very impressed with this board, 60c under load when gaming? thats better than a 5770 I have in another case !

  9. Great price point to achieve. would be my first choice for a new card.

  10. nvidia tessellation performance gets to me everytime. AMD have still such a long way to go.

  11. proves a point too that when AMD fans say Nvidia suck a lot of power, the new designs have it sorted. 🙂
