MSI GTX 1080 Gaming X 8G RGB SLI Review

We measure power consumption from the whole system when idle and when gaming, excluding the monitor. We play Rise Of the Tomb Raider and measure demand.

power consumption

The system with the MSI GTX 1080 Gaming X 8G RGB installed demands around 310 watts, which is around 5 watts more than the Gigabyte GTX 1080 G1 Gaming card and 20 watts less than the Asus ROG Strix GTX 1080. With two cards in SLI, the demand increases to just shy of 400 watts.
