The tests were performed in a controlled air conditioned room with temperatures maintained at a constant 24c – a comfortable environment for the majority of people reading this. Idle temperatures were measured after sitting at the desktop for 30 minutes. Load measurements were acquired by playing Crysis Warhead for 30 minutes and measuring the peak temperature. We also have included Furmark results, recording maximum temperatures throughout a 30 minute stress test. All fan settings were left on automatic.
The cooling results speak for themselves – the best we have ever to record on a high end card, even outperforming our recent champion, the Palit GTX780 Ti Jetstream. When gaming, the card hovered between 50c and 52c – absolutely incredible.
It’s a great card for performance and some light future-proofing… At the cost of about $700 and tax… that is hard money to justify, unless you know you will not regret it. Again, the price is probably the only ‘con’ but at the same time, it is difficult to justify the high price as a con, when this is a company’s flagship device we are talking about. If anything, I am just glad it didn’t start at a price much closer to the Titan (for how it performs, compared to the GTX 780)… that is just $300 dollars way north of the 780 Ti (or $600 if its SLI).
Hard to go wrong with one of these.
