Galaxy GTX 460 GC 768MB Review

Futuremark released 3DMark Vantage, on April 28, 2008. It is a benchmark based upon DirectX 10, and therefore will only run under Windows Vista (Service Pack 1 is stated as a requirement) and Windows 7.  For today we will be testing focusing on the Performance resolution because as the default setting, most people world wide use  the 1280×1024 resolution to compare their scores.

The Galaxy GTX 460 performs admirably in both of the main GPU tests. The 460 produced frame rates above 35 FPS in both test which is an excellent result for a card costing only $160

Our review sample also easily handled the 4 tests that we concentrate on from the feature testing with only test #3 failing to surpass the sweet spot of 30 FPS. Once again for the price the performance of the Galaxy GTX 460 GC is exceptional.

  1. What a lovely looking little board that is. very attractive and great implementation. Awesome to see you guys reviewing more products just outside the UK viewpoint

  2. Well this came out of the blue! I have heard a few good things about these boards and deservedly so by the looks of it. seems like a radical design well done. Nice review Steve, enjoyed reading this one.

  3. I will be surprised if anyone in europe know this company, seem to be US/Canada only.

I concur with other people though this is a great looking little card at a fantastic price. what are the noise levels like ?

  4. Radical design ! love the GTX460s glad to see KG aint giving up reviewing em

  5. What is their warranty system like in Canada Steve? big deal for me as every card I seem to buy fails.

  6. Just ordered this from newegg. was looking at it for a while but couldnt find any reviews online. hope its good or ill be back 😉

  7. Wish more manufacturers would let you remove the fan like this, I know powercolor did it on one of their cards recently but it was a crappy ATI 5770 I think. this is much more like it. Do they make a 1GB version of this?

  8. NEver heard of them? are they a new make? Galaxy? is this a newegg brand?

  9. nice review steve. They let you keep it :p

Seriously, never heard of them either, are they related to newegg on some level? one of their partners ?

  10. this is rather good for being one of the makes we normally laugh at. pricing is also excellent, but I wouldnt touch a 768mb card. maybe 1gb. good on a budget however.

  12. I have just bought this card and i think it is just amazing for the price range that it is in. it has great overclocking potential e.g. standard clock 675mhz vs good overclock 850mhz. So galaxy has lived up to its name to let only the products that meet the “GALAXY” overclocking mark through to its production.
