Sapphire unveils Nitro+ RX 7900 series graphics cards with Vapor-X cooling

Today is a big day for AMD, with the new high-end RX 7900 XT and RX 7900 XTX graphics cards now launching. We've already touched on Sapphire's reference model graphics cards, but now the company has also unveiled its first custom-cooled models too.

Sapphire's Vapor-X cooler returns for AMD's Radeon RX 7900 series. There will be a Nitro+ Vapor-X version of both the RX 7900 XT and the XTX. The Vapor Chamber is mounted in contact with the surface of the GPU and GDDR6 Memory. The Vapor-X cooler is fine-tuned to work with the other cooling components such as the fins, heatpipes and fans to bring the best efficiency to cool the GPU and components. Since the entire area transfers heat at the same rate, the Vapor-X module is engineered to work more efficiently than a copper heat sink at carrying away heat.

Both versions come with a factory overclock in place, pushing boost speeds all the way up to 2680MHz. The NITRO+ AMD Radeon RX 7900 Series Vapor-X Graphics Cards are constructed with a Die Casted Aluminum-Magnesium Alloy Frame that strengthens the structural stiffness of the shroud and ensures durability whilst enveloping the sides of the PCB. Located on top of the frame is the Frontplate Heatsink which overlays the entire PCB to cool the VRM components as a dedicated VRM cooling module to create optimal heat dissipation for peak airflow and cooling performance.

Sapphire's new graphics cards also come with a new assistive system fan control feature, allowing you to sync up your case fans to ramp up at the same time as your graphics card.

Aside from Nitro+, Sapphire will also have Pulse series RX 7900 graphics cards, which will be a little cheaper. The Sapphire RX 7900 XT Nitro+ comes in at £1049, while the Pulse version comes in at £979.99, with a simpler but effective cooling design without the Vapor-X cooler in place. Sapphire also has reference-design models available starting at £899.
