Need for Speed Payback system requirements and 4K gameplay footage released

EA is gearing up to launch Need for Speed Payback later this year, so it is time for the publisher to begin showing off more of the game. Payback is currently being supported by Nvidia on the PC side of things, so the GPU maker has had first dibs on 4K gameplay footage, as well as system requirement information.

This week, Nvidia has released new 4K/60 frames per second gameplay footage for Need for Speed Payback, showing off an 8-lap race through some mountains. As with most racing games, Payback is looking quite impressive graphically.

As for the hardware required to run the game, we have two sets of requirements. The minimum is designed to get the game running at 720p and 30 frames per second, meanwhile the recommended is designed to get you up and running at 1080p and 60 frames per second.

Minimum:

  • OS: 64-bit Windows 7 or later.
  • CPU: Intel Core i3-6300 or AMD FX-8150.
  • RAM: 6GB.
  • Graphics Card: Nvidia GTX 750Ti/ GTX 1050 or AMD equivalent.
  • HDD Space: 30GB.
  • Video Preset: Low.

Recommended:

  • OS: 64-bit Windows 10 or later.
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K or AMD FX-8350.
  • RAM: 8GB.
  • Graphics Card: Nvidia GTX 1060 or AMD equivalent.
  • HDD Space: 30GB.
  • Video Preset: High.

Nvidia unfortunately didn't list what hardware was required to get the game running at 4K/60 but realistically, you are looking at a GTX 1080Ti and a Ryzen 7 or Core i7 CPU.

KitGuru Says: I've been itching to play a new racing game lately, though Need for Speed has taken a bit of a dive over the last few years. Hopefully Payback will be a return to the series' glory days. Are any of you looking forward to Need for Speed Payback?

The last NFS that it was good was Hot Pursuit 2010. From there on it was a party of mediocre titles…

I just noticed that I have it in my origin… I have no idea where I got that, last game I played was Rivals which left me a bad taste.
I will install MW 2012 to give it a shot, criterion made HP 2010 so I have high hopes that it will be good too!
    Thanks!
