Amazon MMO ‘New World’ reportedly bricking RTX 3090 graphics cards

Last night, Amazon Game Studios' long in-development MMO, New World, entered closed beta, granting early access to pre-order customers. Those with an EVGA RTX 3090 graphics card will want to be wary, as reports indicate that the game is bricking these graphics cards.

Over on the New World subreddit, Twitter and EVGA's forums, owners of the EVGA RTX 3090 FTW3 graphics card have reported their GPU dying after launching the New World beta and playing for a small amount of time. Others with non-EVGA RTX 3090 graphics cards have reported being unaffected by this.

Those who have been impacted so far have begun the replacement/refund process for their cards already. There has been no official statement from EVGA or Amazon Game Studios at the time of publishing.

For now, if you're using an EVGA RTX 3090, you will want to stay away from New World until we have more clarification on this issue.
