Red Dead Redemption 2
We run the game with image settings manually set to High and the DirectX 12 mode enabled.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is another title that shows preference for Intel hardware. Using the High – not Maximum – IQ settings, we can get close to 140 FPS average using the RTX 3080 and 10th Gen CPUs. AMD’s Zen 2 competitors are better suited for a 120 FPS target with the powerful graphics card, though they do show less positive 1% low FPS numbers.
Upping the resolution maintains the Intel versus AMD trends, but now an RTX 3080 is only capable of just over 100 FPS average. If you want to push closer to 144 or 165 FPS, the image quality settings will have to be reduced accordingly.
Likewise, IQ reductions will serve a purpose for delivering better higher-than-60Hz performance for the pair of more affordable Super cards.
