Metro Exodus
We use the DirectX 12 mode, PhysX & Hairworks disabled, and the Ultra quality settings.
Intel performs well in Metro Exodus at 1080p with the 5GHz Core i5 and 5.1GHz Core i9 occupying the top spots comfortably. Almost 120 FPS or higher is achieved with an RTX 3080 on all chips or an RTX 2080 Ti on the Intel CPUs. The performance drop-off down to the RTX 2070 Super is sizable, so even at 1080p, image quality reductions would be necessary to push closer to a triple-digit FPS level with the more affordable graphics cards.
Pushing past 100 FPS is going to require an RTX 3080 at these image quality settings. Intel continues to outperform AMD’s Zen 2 chips thanks in large to frequency advantages. However, the margins are far slimmer with the higher stress of a 1440p resolution applied.
