AMD Ryzen 9 5980HS Review (RTX 3080 eGPU Tested)

PCMark 10

Overall scoring from PCMark 10 has the Ryzen 9 5980HS-equipped Flow X13 laptop in first place. Digging deeper into the individual test results, we see the Ryzen 9 performing particularly well with productivity tasks. Though Intel’s competitors do put up a good fight thanks to their acceleration capabilities from features such as QuickSync and stronger partnering GPUs in the case of the MSI and Razer laptops.

3DMark Night Raid

3DMark Time Spy

3DMark Time Spy has the Ryzen 9 5980HS as the highest chip in our chart for CPU scoring. This comes as no surprise given the use of proficient, highly clocked Zen 3 cores. Night Raid shows the same trend, though this less demanding workload widens the Ryzen chip’s lead over the Core i9-10980HK.
