Nvidia’s RTX 4070 graphics card reportedly launching in April

Nvidia has yet to announce the RTX 4070 officially, but we've heard a lot about it lately. Rumours have loosely pointed to April for the GPU's release date, but a more recent report has been more precise, pointing to an April 13th launch.

As reported by VideoCardz, a Twitter leaker has recently claimed that the RTX 4070 will launch on the 13th of April. This particular leaker has previously reported correct dates for certain RTX 30 and RTX 40 graphics cards.

Based on the latest rumours, the RTX 4070 will pack the same AD104 GPU as the RTX 4070 Ti, with fewer cores. The RTX 4070 is expected to pack an AD104-250/251 GPU with 5888 CUDA cores, a 1792 reduction from the full die. Like the RTX 4070 Ti, the non-Ti model will probably come with 12GB of GDDR6X memory across a 192-bit interface. The TDP is estimated to be around 200W, 85W less than the RTX 4070 Ti.

Nvidia will be active at conferences this month, with presentations taking place at GDC and GTC.

KitGuru says: With the launch of the RTX 4070, the RTX 40 series will finally arrive in the mid-range segment. The thing is that despite being considered “mid-range”, the RTX 4070 graphics cards will probably go for around £600.
