Nvidia will only be releasing a Founders Edition of the 8GB RTX 4060 Ti

This week, Nvidia officially announced the RTX 4060 family of graphics cards, including a standard RTX 4060, and two versions of the RTX 4060 Ti, one with 8GB of memory (launching this month) and another with 16GB of memory, scheduled to arrive in July. Nvidia has now also confirmed that it will only be releasing a Founders Edition version of the 8GB RTX 4060 Ti, leaving the standard RTX 4060 and the 16GB 4060 Ti for board partners.

The Nvidia Founders Edition cards are usually sought after due to their price point, often coming in cheaper than custom models from board partners, while still offering decent cooling performance. Custom-cooled versions tend to be priced above MSRP, with a few exceptions, such as versions with blower-style coolers. If you want an RTX 4060 Ti with more VRAM, then you'll need to explore the vast portfolio of AiB options when the card arrives in July.

One of the benefits of going with an AiB model might be the power connector. Not everyone has an ATX 3.0 power supply yet, or a native 12VHPWR cable. Some custom versions of the RTX 4060 Ti may swap the 12VHPWR connector for a standard 8-pin connector.

The GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8GB will be available starting next week, the 24th of May, priced at £389 for the 8GB version. The 16GB version will be launching in July, priced at £479. The standard RTX 4060 will also be launching in July, with prices starting at £289.
