Nvidia RTX 4060 Ti may consume less power than we thought

Early rumours suggested the RTX 4060 Ti was likely to ship with a 220W TDP, which perhaps did seem a touch high for a xx60-series class of GPU. New information has come to light however, and the leaker who shared the previously-reported specs has now updated the TDP, which has seemingly been reduced to 160W.

According to kopite7kimi, the RTX 4060 Ti will use the AD106-350-A1 GPU on a short PG190 board, with the 12VHPWR/PCIe 5.0 power connector. Packing 4,352 CUDA cores, this GPU is expected to ship with 32MB of L2 cache and 8GB of GDDR6X memory clocked at 18Gbps. The TDP was initially thought to be 220W, but a more recent report changes that.

As per the latest rumours, the RTX 4060 Ti will have a 160W TDP, a 60W reduction over the previously-reported specs shared by the kopite7kimi. Even compared with the RTX 3060 Ti's 200W TDP, the new value is still 40W lower.

The Nvidia RTX 4060 Ti is expected to release between late Q1 2023 and early Q2 2023. We're hoping for it to be considerably more affordable than the other RTX 40-series cards, but we'll have to wait and see on the front.

KitGuru says: A 160W TDP is more befitting of a mid-range graphics card. It'll be interesting to see what sort of coolers Nvidia's board partners end up using, as the 40-series models so far have all been very large.
